INTRODUCTION

The LORD is God and there is no other god. All others who say they are god are simply trying to mislead you.

You can know the difference between the real God, the true and only God by listening to King David who tells us that the true God is great and His greatness is unsearchable. This means that you can learn more and more about Him, but even when you are in eternity, you will never come to know all there is to know about Him. God has no limitations and His being cannot be measured. So we say God is infinite.

God is full of goodness, full of compassion, great in mercy, great in righteousness, has hesed or steadfast love. David reminds us God had done mighty acts or deeds which should be praised and made known to everybody in the world. Also, God is gracious and He shows this grace in all the works that He does.

David in this Psalm 145 reminds us that God has authority and lives in glory and splendour and all His works are wondrous and awesome. The Creation of the world, the universe, the seas, the land, the animals, the trees and plants, the sun and the moon and the stars, and people, and everything that exists was His work.

David tells us that he knows all these that were created praise and bless God and thank Him. The people God created are kind and pious, and should have deep faith in God, and should show this by being grateful to God and be willing to have Him guide and direct their life. Their task therefore is to talk about God, His glory and the glorious and great kingdom that will dazzle all. He is the King in this Kingdom and the people of God owe all to His majesty. His Kingdom is not like the kingdoms that have existed for their kings and their kingdom have lasted only for a short time, and the earthly kings have all died and their power have ceased.

This lesson from David teaches us to look closely at the personality and the things which make God so amazing. This teaches us we are not to be self-centered and not therefore live for ourselves. When we are looking at our amazing and beautiful God, we will not look only at our own needs but at the needs of others around us. Then we will be happy and make others happy. We will make God happy with us.

It is therefore important that we focus on God instead of ourselves.

Then we will praise and bless God for His marvellous goodness and faithfulness to us, and the gift of eternal life He has given to us. We will then enjoy all the other gifts He has given to us so that we enjoy life and avoid the disasters we see making people around us suffer.

He will take care of us because when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and commit ourselves to Him for He has redeemed us and saved us from death. So let us live the better way,

It is well worth it.
