INTRODUCTION

We make all kinds of New Year resolutions and swear we will succeed in making changes to what we are doing. We will make a great improvement in our lives. But more often than not we do not follow through and we fail. The main problem is that we do not include God in our plans and do not take into account what God would like us to do. We have an ideal vision of our future and we think we will by our own decisions reach a perfect place of peace, pleasure, and happiness  But remember that only God the Father knows the future, and only He knows the right way to get to peace, blessing, happiness, the perfect world, and His incredible blessings He has in store for those that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Redeemer and Saviour.

Do not follow that excluding God habit. Remember the example of Israel the Bible told us about. The nation of Israel were in slavery and they had to cry to God to free them. God did just that and sent Moses to confront the king of Egypt, and Moses led the people out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, destroyed Pharaoh’s pursuing army bent on the destruction of the people of Israel. Moses followed God’s instruction given him at the Burning Bush meeting and he led them to Mount Sinai to meet with God and enter a covenant with God.

God wanted to dwell with these people He had just saved from slavery. He gave Moses precise and detailed instructions to build a tabernacle where God would meet the people. All the parts in this tabernacle pointed to Christ Jesus, the final Saviour of the nation and all the peoples of the earth. God continued to carry out His plan to fulfill the promises to Abraham which was to bless his descendants and to bless all the peoples of the earth.

God told the nation what He would give them if they obeyed His commandments. They listened, prepared themselves to meet God, and they heard the voice of God and agreed with God’s desires. They agreed with the terms of the covenant God entered into with them at Mount Sinai.

They willingly gave all kinds of expensive metals like gold and silver and other materials like fine linen and animal skins and everything else needed to build this fabulous and most beautiful tabernacle. God did not force them to make these contributions. The people loved what God had done and they wanted God to dwell with them in this tabernacle. They wanted to be able to meet God and hear His instructions. We know therefore it is best for us to listen to God, hear what He wanted for all of what God wants from us is for our benefit. Use what you have, whether it be money, valuables, other assets, or just your talents and abilities in the service of God. You will receive blessings so amazing and wonderful which are far beyond what you can dream of.
