Psalm 100:4
INTRODUCTION
There is a very interesting Gospel song popularized and sung by Shirley Caesar titled “No charge” which tells the story of a young child telling his mother that she should pay him for doing the chores around the house that he was supposed to do. The mother did not slap him but simply stated to tell him the very many things she did for him all through his life without charging him even one cent. She did all those things because she was his mother and loved him. So she cared for him “Without charge”.
Have you ever felt entitled and never thought of telling Mom or Dad or Grandma or Grandpa or Aunt or Uncle “Thanks” for all the good done for you?
Have you every thanked your friends or anyone else that have done you favour? Have you ever thanked your teachers for going above and beyond the call of their duty to you or their job?
Remember God the Father, God the Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit created you, gave you life, looked after you, protected you, provided persons around you to give you many goodies. Brought you into the family of God and guaranteed you eternal life.
You did not pay a cent to God for your salvation. It came because of the Grace of God. Jesus paid a great price on the Cross for your salvation and it did not cost you one cent. He simply told you that in order for you to do what is best for you to live a great life on earth and an even greater live in the New Heaven and the new Earth that you obey what He has told you to do, for that is the best way for you to live.
You must be sensible and thank God all the time. Worship Him and praise Him for His marvellous goodness. He loves you and He loves to hear from you, so pray to Him often. Talk to Him whenever you can. He is waiting to hear from you. He loves you and will bless you with more than you can imagine.
So read this Psalm of praise carefully for the psalmist spells it all out for you. He tells you what God has done for you and he tells you what God expects from you so you will receive more and more mercies, kindness, and blessings from Him every day of your life.
