INTRODUCTION AND STUDY
Competition can be good sometimes for it can wake you up to do better next time. But it can be bad sometimes for people who lose out. They can get into a depression, get disheartened and cry a lot when they are not at the top as they had hoped.
Fortunately for us when it comes to the most important position we should work for to have in life there is no competition that we have to worry about.
God has given us that position we need to have to get many blessings and an inheritance from Him. God is kind, loving, and gracious and He arranged it so that before you were even born, you would receive His blessing and become His child and be a part of His family.
We did not deserve this amazing gift of Gods grace but because He loved the people He created He gladly decided to save us and have the Lord Jesus come and do what He had to do to take over your sins and take you out of the position of slavery to bad behaviour. You did not have to work for this grace. God simply provides this for you and because of His and the Lord Jesus’ great love for you, Jesus paid all the cost that was involved.
The Apostle Paul wrote the Book of Ephesians to the church in Ephesus when he was in prison in Rome because he was preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, telling people that to be saved they had to hear what Jesus was teaching and believe that He could save them from being destroyed.
Paul taught this very dynamic and faithful church in the city of Ephesus that God had chosen them for salvation and would give them the great gift of being in Christ. Christ would give them all kinds of great blessings and give them eternal life, with no pain, suffering, dying, hunger, thirst. They would live in glory with Jesus and enjoy the magnificent things in the New Jerusalem. We studied before what that would be like.
So be thankful and grateful that God picked you. That would give you great comfort when troubles come. Paul assured us that the Holy Spirit would live in all those that believed in Jesus and He would teach and protect them so that they would know God had guaranteed their salvation and future blessings.
So be confident. God picked you as part of His family even before you were born. So follow what He teaches and obey Him. Pray to Him and praise Him for His goodness.
