Revelation 21:4

INTRODUCTION AND STUDY

Every human being and every animal love to have a home of their home where they go and be with their family. This sense of wanting to have a home and belonging to a family or group is built into the minds of the vast majority of living beings.

Those who believe in God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit regard being with God as their home. Believers want God to live with them and be there all the time with them.Believers have freeomB

God promised that the time would come when He would live with those who believed in Him and so became part of His family. That closeness and intimate relationship with God was what God had created human beings for. It is a pity that Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying the commandment of God following the advice of Satan and falling into temptation. But God stuck it out and was faithful to people even when they were not faithful to Him. His love for the men and women He created was so great that God did everything possible to rescue people from being locked into sin.

When the time came God vowed that He would destroy Satan, and the evil beings, the disobedient human beings, and forces on earth and would clean it up. He would replace the present corrupted earth with a new beautiful, holy earth where there would be no sin, sorrow, mourning, crying, pain, suffering or any kind of abuse.

Our Chapter 21 in the Book of Revelation tells us about the time this would happen and the ApostleJohn went into much of this in great detail to have us remember that God would make everything new. We would have a new home, mix with people in their new glorified body that would allow them to do things they could not do in their old, weakening bodies. God would make a new creation and a new home for all His people.

But the Apostle John warned that those that did not believe in Jesus as their Saviour and Lord would not be in this new home. Nothing sinful would be there.

Our job therefore is to tell people about the beautiful new home that Jesus has prepared for those who love Him.

When we do our task the Holy Spirit will do the rest and make sure people would know that God wanted to live with them one day in a new home on a brand new heaven and a brand new earth.
