INTRODUCTION AND STUDY

Have you ever cried because people were not treating you fairly?

Have you ever been through a difficult time when you had some problems that did not go away easily and which you had to depend on someone to solve so that you would have some peace?

The fact is that King David was a King who all through his life had to fight and struggle to make sure the tribes of the nation of Israel were united and protected from their enemies.

David sometimes felt depressed and stressed. Life sometimes was hard but he learned through many years of struggle when he often faced impossible situations that he could depend on God.

He learned that when he was in trouble he first had to praise God for the many times God had taken him through hard times and provided for him. That put him in a good frame of mind. It was amazing but when he praising God he did not feel so afraid.

He had to make his mind strong and will himself to praise God, to thank Him, to worship Him remembering and reciting what God had done for him. That action gave him strength and he never lost hope in being victorious over his many enemies. There is a familiar song which we should sing often. God loves to hear His children singing. The chorus of the song says:

Count your blessing

Name them one by one

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

David knew that God was fair. God will never give his rights to other. God judged everyone right. When anyone did anything wrong God would never support those wrong actions. When a person did what was right they could always count on God for help. The Bible tells us God has His angels camp around those that trust God, and those being oppressed and treated unfairly will have help and their position will change for the better. God is a God of justice and righteousness. He will never do anything wrong to you. He will be a refuge for you. God did great things for the children of Israel and He rescued them often. He helped David out of his troubles often. So David is telling us the truth when he encourages us to trust our God of justice and righteousness. So when in trouble or even when you are out of trouble praise and thank God for the great many good things He has done.
