INTRODUCTION AND STUDY.

Suppose your grandfather or grandmother gave you money to buy an expensive game set but only gave you money to buy two games? You had to choose between being satisfied with what you had been given or to go to grandma and grandpa and ask or even demand for more. Or suppose when you were older your grandparents left you a big house as an inheritance but when you went there one day you found that the Master bedroom and Living room had beautiful furniture but the furniture in the rest of house was not so great.  Would you complain or would you appreciate what you had been given?

God faces the same problem with us. He gave us the most important thing possible which is life. God has given us a body which we can use to enjoy a lot of things like food and clothing. He built us with eyes that we can use to enjoy the beautiful sunset, the beautiful flowers and other things around us. He gave us a nose that we use to smell lovely perfumes, Then on top of that God has promised to give us who believe in Jesus eternal life and eternal happiness. Nehemiah Top that if you can!God had warned the

This is very bad day andThese add up to a tremendous amount of blessings for us. We can use our hands to make tools and implements that we enjoy, and we can even do creative things like painting, and play beautiful music that everybody enjoys.

The This was a directOnly problem is that we want a lot of things but we do not really need them. We need toys and every single video game that comes out from the music and game publishers. Sometimes we have so many toys and games that if we gave away those that we are not using our bedroom and our house would look pretty empty.

Lesson for us today thereforeI am just like you for I like to accumulate things such as money.

But Jesus told His disciples that there is a difference between wanting and needing. He told them and He told us that it is not good for us to spend so much time worrying about the things that we want, especially things that we do not really need. When we do that we forget the important things that God wants us to do such as helping others when they are in difficulty.

God gave us life and that is the most important thing. He has also guaranteed that He will look after us even if life gets difficult sometimes. He promised us that He will take good care of us because we belong to Him. He loves all the people that He has created and especially those that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Since we know that God has given us the important thing which is life and promised us the other most important thing which is eternal life we do not need to worry about the things which are less important. God knows that we need food and clothing and a place to live so therefore we really do not need to spend our time worrying and being anxious about having all those things, forgetting that we should trust God and depend on Him to help us. In fact if you are not as tall as you would like, worrying will not help you grow taller. If you want a long life worrying about that will not help you live longer. Your worrying might even shorten your life.

Since God gave us the most important thing for He created us and gave us life it makes sense for us to understand that He would also give us the other things that are of less importance than life that we really need.

So Jesus tells us not to be anxious or worried about what we eat or what we would drink or what we would wear. We should be a little more carefree than that so that we will have fun living.

Jesus pointed to the birds who work hard to get food and God gives them food when they work hard. They do not worry and are not anxious like many human beings are about the things of life that they need. They are an example of how we should live. God looks after the birds and He looks after us even more for we are more important to Him.

Then Jesus told us to look at the beautiful flowers that grew in His country. These flowers that grew up in the meadows were scarlet and red coloured and they had all kinds of other colors. They were even more beautiful and colourful than the grand Palace that Solomon had built. They were even prettier than the beautiful and gorgeous royal clothes that Solomon and the people in his palace wore. But these flowers lived only a short time. They came up in the morning and were beautiful and men would pull them up out of the ground and toss them into the fire to produce warmth.

God was so amazing! He created all kinds of beautiful things that did not last long. Jesus told us to compare ourselves to these things for God created us with all kind of abilities that those birds and flowers did not have. Then on top of that God promised that one day we will be given what is more beautifully than anything else in the universe for we were precious to God.

So let us not worry. Let us understand that God who created us and gave us life will give those other things that we really need. So we are to pray that God will help us take care of the things that we really need. We should not accumulate all the things that we want and do not need and we should help others that don’t have any of these things that they need. We should share for God loves that kind of action. Remember God will bless us for all those things that we did to help others and He will reward us. Jesus told us that we should build up these treasurers in heaven for that would last us throughout eternity instead of accumulating toys and all kinds of other things which would eventually stop working  and will fall apart anyway.
