Ezekiel 3:10

INTRODUCTION.

It will be great when we enjoy the many delights that God has waiting for His children. Such a person is a model for us. We can look at their life experiences and examine our life and make necessary adjustments.  So let us look at the priest called by God to be a prophet. He lived when there was a big fight going on between a few nations and this war was not going well for the nation of Judah and its allies. Judah was under attack and was paying tribute money to the king of Babylon but they did not like that relationship and rebelled. The King of Babylon was very upset and he came and surrounded the city of Jerusalem. Things got very bad. Nobody could go into the city, carry food and supplies and the people were starving. But we wonder why this was happening for the King of Babylon had attacked Judah before and taken some of the citizens into slavery in Babylon. You would have thought that the leaders of Judah would have more sense than to fight with the King of Babylon.

So the prophet Ezekiel was sent by God to warn the people of Judah that had been taken into captivity in Babylon that if they did not stop disobeying God’s laws and stop worshipping idols God would not protect them but allow them to stay in captivity, exiled from their country. But despite the warnings from God the people were stubborn. God called them “impudent”, and “hard-hearted”. God told Ezekiel to keep on warning that disaster to Jerusalem and Judah and their sons and daughters there would be killed. This tragedy would happen even though God loved them. Sadly, they did not listen, and disaster happened exactly as Ezekiel had warned. Ezekiel was faithful to his task and went through personal hardship to complete the task God had given him.

He left a good example for us. Let us do as God wants. Make sure His words become a part of you so that you will automatically do what is right. If you feel weak God will be there to help strengthen you. God will make sure you will win the fights you are in. Remember God loves you and will care for you no matter what is happening in your life.
